63 Barlborough Road, Clowne,Chesterfield. S43 4QX
Hi! And thank you for your interest in the ‘Lightning’ children’s car.
All the mechanical components are simply nuts, bolts, hinges etc that can be purchased from any good DIY store but a parts list is also enclosed so that if there is anything you cannot source locally all the parts are available from us.
Depending on what parts you may already have in your shed, and whether you decide to use an old or second-hand cordless drill and wheels or buy these things new, you should be able to build the car for around £150.
You could choose to spend more because our parts list includes everything you need plus extras like upholstery vinyl and foam for the seat, headlights and big round red rear reflectors, a steering wheel and our elegant spoked wheels so that if you aren’t working on a tight budget, and don’t want to ‘shop around’ you can simply buy everything you need from us.
Just phone us on 01246812012 to discuss your requirements or to place an order. Alternatively, visit our website at www. lightning-cars.co.uk where you can buy parts online.
You can pay using any Debit or Credit card, by PayPal or BACS transfer. You can also pay by post using a cheque or postal order.
Full details of how to pay are listed on the website together with current prices. The car is the right size to fit on the back seat of most cars so trips to the park can be embarked on. Spare power packs (drill batteries) will extend the running time so you won’t get stuck half way round!
YOU MUST USE THE CORRECT SWING BIN
The swing bin required is a ‘Whitefurze’ large 50 litre swing bin. It is available in 5 high gloss colours and can be obtained from local shops, from Amazon and on eBay by entering ‘Whitefurze’ large 50L swing bin’ in the search box.
To find your nearest stockist, please contact ’Whitefurze’ at www.whitefurze.net
I hope you enjoy making this unique design of car and that the lucky child gets a lot of pleasure from driving it.

The Lightning is designed to be a children's 'car'. For gardens and parks where legal. Not on roads or pavements and well away from traffic.
All the mechanical components are simply nuts, bolts, hinges etc that can be purchased from any good DIY store but a parts price list is also included so if there is anything you cannot source locally all the mechanical parts are available from us.
Depending on what parts you have already and whether you decide to use a second-hand cordless drill and wheels or buy new, you should be able to build the car for between £50 and £150
You could choose to spend more because the price list includes everything you need including, pre-drilled ‘ready to fit’ axles, plus extras such as upholstery vinyl and foam for the seat, headlights and big round red rear reflectors, a steering wheel and our elegant spoked wheels so that customers who aren’t working on a tight budget, and don’t want to ‘shop around’ for all the parts can simply buy everything at once from us.
The car is the right size to fit on the back seat of most cars so trips to the park can be embarked on. The drill trigger is operated remotely via bicycle brake cable and provides single pedal operation, progressive acceleration and automatic braking. The drill’s half speed switch will provide a low speed of 3mph for novice drivers, and on high speed you should expect around 6mph for a duration of around 40 mins. Spare power packs that come with most cordless drills, will extend the running time so you won’t get stuck half way round! The car will handle gradients and undulating surfaces including mown grass, without a problem.
I hope you enjoy making this unique design of car and that the lucky child gets a lot of pleasure from driving it. JC.
